Week 14
This Blog: Reflection on Product Sketches and Design Specifications
Practice:
One-Point Perspective:
A one-point perspective drawing means that the drawing has a single vanishing point, usually directly opposite the viewer's eye and usually on the horizon line. All lines parallel with the viewer's line of sight recede to the horizon towards this vanishing point.
3 rules for One Point Perspective Drawing:
- All horizontal lines are parallel to the horizon line.
- All diagonal lines only intersect the horizon line at the vanishing point.
- All vertical lines can intersect the horizon line anywhere.
Step 1: Draw a horizon line
Step 2: Draw the vanishing point
Step 3: Draw a simple shape anywhere on the paper. Either above or below the horizon line.
Step 4: Draw a line from the vanishing point to each corner of the shape.
Step 5: Draw a horizontal and vertical line to form the sides of the shape.
Two-Point Perspective:
3 rules for Two-Point Perspective Drawing:
- All horizontal lines are parallel to the horizon line.
- All diagonal lines only intersect the horizon line at the vanishing point.
- All vertical lines can intersect the horizon line anywhere.
